The Lectionary
At St. Peter’s we follow the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), adopted by many Christian traditions in its present form in 1994, with a handful of adaptions for use to coincide with the liturgical customs of the Episcopal Church. The Lectionary is designed for both Sunday, corporate worship, and personal and family devotions for use with the Daily Office.
The Sunday Lectionary follows a three-year cycle identified as Year A, Year B, and Year C, and begins each cycle with the readings for the first Sunday of Advent. In liturgical year beginning in Advent 2022 follows Year A.
The Daily Office Lectionary follows a two-year cycle identified as Year One and Year Two, beginning, as the Sunday Lectionary, with the season of Advent.
To access the readings for any of the Sundays of the year, or for the Feast Days observed by the Episcopal Church, please consult the web pages of The Episcopal Church.
